More book news

Argh! I’ve been terrible about posting here lately and even worse about getting back into the podcasts. I will figure out something for that one of these days. I need a good topic to discuss, I guess.

In the meantime, I made the announcement on my website the other day about the release in print of the LEGEND OF THE WHITE DRAGON: LEGENDS, LEGACIES, DESTINY, the three complete novels in serialization on my website, as one large volume by Christmas 2010. The serial will run its course through 2011, but you won’t have to wait to read what happens to Calli, Jayson, Gilthiel, Marjan, Makleor, and the rest of the wide cast of characters. You’ll have the chance to purchase a print copy containing all three novels plus the complete appendices in one volume. I could use some opinions of whether I should sell only a trade paperback version or offer a limited release hardcover with dust jacket.

In addition to that, there is another book outside the main action of the epic. The story takes place at the same time but it’s about the adventures of Phelan Isolder while staying on Rivonia. He was sent before Cavatar was overtaken by Tyrkam to select a bride from one of the many daughters of Sovereign Kassar Farolkavin and to protect him. But his adventure takes him to the enemy of the Rivon into what he discovers to be a peaceful people, the Caveshi. Among them, he also discovers the magic of his lineage and a special creature who can aid the fight against the darkness overtaking Gairdra throughout the main books of LOTWD.

This separate story is called FIREBLOOD, and I want to bring it to you, my readers. I don’t have a date yet, but I will bring this side story to you before the serialization of LOTWD reaches its end, because there are events in DESTINY that may seem on the lines of deus ex machina without knowing how it came to be. I couldn’t include this story in the events of the main story, however. It had to be written separately as its own, because it only touches on events in LOTWD; but some scenes in FIREBLOOD do cross over into parts of the other stories, particularly with the horrible demons known as nekrethe (which is the plural form of nekreth) or in Makleor’s observations.

At this time, I am not planning on serializing FIREBLOOD but am going straight to ebook and print. This book was offered a contract with a small e-publisher, which I turned down, but I have another one ready. So, stay tuned for further news of this and the exciting release of the ebook and print versions of LEGEND OF THE WHITE DRAGON: LEGENDS, LEGACIES, DESTINY (three complete novels).
