It’s been a while since I posted pics of my boy.  He’ll be two in almost four weeks.  I took some pics with my new camera phone.  They’re not hi-res, but they are from today.  He’s grown an in and is doing well in his groundwork.  But I won’t bore you with details.  Here’s my boy, the one I like to say is my Beau my husband let’s me keep

If you haven’t already read what is posted on my website, the opening scenes are posted. For a little something more, read on for one of the revealing scenes from Dragon Prophecy, the first book the the Legend of the White Dragon (coming in March 2008 from Mundania Press):

The light brightened and the girl approached it. Istaria’s stomach knotted. The irrevocable act repeated itself once more. She watched in horror as the whole incident replayed before her, and she could do nothing to stop it.

The child neared a shimmering crystal pulsing with a steady rhythm. Where the ceiling slanted down, the light projected from its pedestal of rock raised from the ground.

The Light blinded Istaria. The cave spun with unmerciful dizziness. What was this? Never before had the magic affected her in her dreams.

Gradually, the dizziness subsided. Istaria wished she could shout to the girl to run before she committed an error she would live with the rest of her life.

She was too late and could do nothing.

The crystal pulled the child into its depths, where colors swirled like rainbow snakes twisting themselves around each other.

“Phelan should see this.” The child’s eyes grew wide with awe. She reached for the inviting surface. Small hands set on the sides that expanded and contracted like living flesh, like a heart beating.

In a burst of light, the forces exploded outward. The girl stumbled back with a shriek. She scrambled to her feet and backed away, her eyes wide with terror as the light surrounded her. Out of the haze a monstrous, ghostly form materialized.

The girl screamed and fled.

Istaria screamed in silent sympathy. She raced after the dragon chasing the child. However, it overtook the girl in just a few steps. The stream of its magic knocked the girl down into stillness.

The dragon stopped. It waited.

Istaria ran to the girl. The magic absorbed into the small body, leaving the cave dark. The child’s brown braids turned a sparkling white.
